Pierre Walters

Pierre Walters brings a lifetime of passion and diverse expertise to the DC Media Academy. He's not just an instructor; he's an award-winning actor, director, and producer with a remarkable career spanning the stages, films, and media productions.

As an actor, Pierre has graced the stage in over 30 productions, taking on challenging roles like Claudius in Hamlet, Orsino in Twelfth Night, and Walter Lee in A Raisin in the Sun. His impactful performances also include The Window King, A Doll's House, and The Mojo and the Sayso. On screen, Pierre has appeared in over 30 films, earning critical acclaim, including the Queens World Film Festival's Best Actor award for his role as Glenn Johnson in The Red Effect. He was also recently nominated for The Baltimore Crown Awards' Actor of the Year.

 

Beyond his acting experience, Pierre is a highly celebrated director and producer. He's led over 300 brands and campaigns across various media platforms, creating nationally recognized televised broadcasts, corporate industrials, and music videos. His keen creative vision and unwavering commitment to excellence have earned him significant accolades, including a Telly Award, the San Francisco Black Film Festival Award, and the DC Black Theatre Festival Award. In the music industry, his directing work has been particularly honored with a BET Award nomination for Best Gospel Video, a BET Award nomination for Video Director of the Year, and recognition as Gospel Music Video of the Year on Gospel Music Channel twice.
