Crafting Your Acting Brand Strategy
The business and branding side of an on-camera career
Service Description
This workshop will discuss an on-camera career's business and branding side, specifically visual marketing materials. Content: Identifying Your "Type": The workshop would help actors understand how casting directors might perceive them, and how to embrace their "type" while showing their range. This is a crucial first step for on-camera casting. The Headshot Session: A practical guide to preparing for a headshot session, including wardrobe choices, finding the right photographer, and knowing what "looks" to shoot for (e.g., business, mom/dad, edgy, comedic). Reel Building: For actors with some experience, this would cover how to get footage, what a casting director is looking for in a reel, and how to edit one together effectively (or what to look for in an editor). For those without footage, it would cover strategies for getting started, like student films or scene-study reels. Online Presence & Social Media: An overview of using platforms like IMDb, Actors Access, and social media to professionalize their brand and network effectively.
