Mastering Commercial Acting/Spokesperson
Developing your On-Camera Presence
Service Description
Commercial work is often an actor's first paid on-camera job, but it requires a specific skill set. This workshop would demystify the commercial casting process. Content: The "Real Person" vs. the Character: Participants will learn how to bring their authentic personality to a commercial audition rather than creating a character for a dramatic scene. Cold Reads & Improvisation: Commercial auditions are often fast-paced and may involve improvisation or working with a partner for the first time. The workshop provides exercises for quick thinking and adapting to new scenarios. Taking Direction: A major part of commercial work is being able to give very specific and often rapid-fire directions (e.g., "Slightly more surprised," "Look at the camera now," etc.). The workshop is heavily focused on listening and quick adjustments. Branding & Product Endorsement: A session would be dedicated to understanding the actor's role as a brand ambassador and how to connect with the product authentically.
